Listen to a radio interview with a communications consultant about giving presentations. Answer the questions below.
1.      How does Melanie define a good presentation? 
It’s the one that is well prepared and well delivered

Planning, preparation, and practice

3.      Why is it important to consider your audience when preparing a presentation? 

  You have to think about the audience how familiar they are with the topic, what do they need to learn, what you think will interest them. You need to keep the audience in mind, don’t let your presentation fall on deaf ears

4.      How can you start your presentation? Give examples. 
We can start our presentation by using ice breaker that can create good report and  relax atmosphere.
E.g. a joke. An introduction remark
5. What is a presentation outline? 
It is a  plaint form plan which you want to talk about.
5.      How can an outline help you in giving a good presentation? 
Following it when you prepare your presentation.

6.      What are signposts?
Expression when you move from one point to another point. Such as First of all

Listen to the interview again. Pay attention to the expressions below. Try to define each one based on your understanding, and then answer the questions below.

Some sentences can warm up the relationship when you start a presentation or conversation with people.  We will use an ice-breaker when you talk with strangers.

The presenter needs to consider the audience that what kind of content will interest the listener

4.      What does Melanie mean when she says to some people public speaking is second nature? 
Some people are very good at speaking in public.  They don’t have to practice

5.      What is an attention grabber? What example of an attention grabber does Melanie give? 
Something can grab audience’s attention. Such as a joke, a introductionary remark

6.      When Melanie says you need to have your audience in mind when you plan your talk, what does she mean? 
The presenter needs to consider their audience’s level if they can understand your topic or the terms you are going to use.
